Transiti di Venere
by Raffale Curi
A performance inspired by the “Transit of Venus”, a very unusual phenomenon which happens
when Planet Venus is between the Earth and the Sun. The director uses it as a metaphor in order
to talk about the dream and the impossibility for the human being to reach what he loves. An
impossibility that, as often in Curi’s imaginative performance, becomes a pandemic of visions,
poetry, music, artistic quotes, among which the beautiful “The Origin of the World” by Gustave
Courbet. According to the director, the only salvation is in art, in its beauty, in its unspeakability. «It is the impossibility – as Curi writes in the director’s notes – of touching one another in a
cosmogony wreck of the common sense».
